Barn And Mountain in Crystal, Colorado BARN AND MOUNTAIN - CRYSTAL, COLORADO Camera: Nikon N90 - Aperature: f/22 - Lens: Nikkor 28-70mm f/2.8 - Film: Fuji Velvia 50 Sometimes you get lucky, actually most of the time you get lucky with photography, no matter how much you set up, how much you prepare to be in the right place at the right time, sometimes the best pictures are the ones that you happen to capture on the spur of the moment. This happens to one of those, I woke up looked out the window and quickly got dressed grabbed my camera gear, and ran outside. I found the spot that I wanted to shoot from and took a couple of deep breaths and I set up my equipment, I put the camera on a tripod, composed the shot and took a couple. Just as a photographic tip I almost always use a tripod for landscape pictures, because they require sharpness, and they frequently have moving water which requires a steady shot. In this particular case it was a slow shutter speed because I wanted the depth of field, I was also using a 50 speed film, which made it even slower and the time of the day could be considered low light. So all of these combined made it necessary to use a tripod for most landscape pictures. Some people ask is it a pain to set up the tripod, and I answer no, because the results speak for themselves, and plus it makes you slow down a bit and your pictures tend to be more thought out. |
